Our Mission
At Shine we aspire to create a community with strong moral and social values. Underpinning all of our work is a desire to enable all children and young people to realise and fulfil their potential – enhancing individual life chances and improving quality of life within communities. Due to their own experiences in life, our company’s founders recognise the toll that disadvantage can take on families and communities. We therefore strive to put as much back into the community around us as possible. This includes providing free or subsidised education and care provisions wherever possible and establishing initiatives aimed at supporting local people.
Our Background
Our team are made up of professionals with a wide range of experience across the care and education sectors.
Shine’s founder, Louise, has worked within education for over 24 years – including as Head of Pastoral Department within mainstream schools. She also worked for the local authority for over 15 years within children’s services. In 2018, Louise set up highly successful specialist (SEMH) independent school which has been recognised and accredited by the Independent Schools Association. In addition, Louise responded to calls from a local housing authority, the police and the community to found an outreach youth project. Together, these projects were praised by Greater Manchester Police for being responsible for a 46% reduction in anti-social behaviour within the local area.
